Additional Fall Centerpiece DIY Tips
Here are additional helpful tips for crafting gorgeous and affordable DIY fall centerpiece masterpieces:
- Mix and Match: Combining real and artificial elements stretches your budget and ensures longevity for your creation. Consider pairing faux pumpkins with real fall leaves and branches. You could also shop faux for elements like pumpkins and gourds.
- Think Outside the Box (or Vase.): You don’t need expensive floral vases to create stunning fall centerpieces. Try an old watering can, a vintage teapot, or even a hollowed-out log for a more natural feel. Or use corn or branches as the base of your DIY fall centerpieces for a more natural, rustic look.
- Embrace Color: Fall is all about warm and earthy tones, so don’t be afraid to experiment with different color combinations. Deep oranges, golden yellows, rustic reds, and vibrant purples all work beautifully together. To achieve the perfect fall color palette, you can incorporate flowers, such as flowers centerpieces, into your design, too.
- Vary Heights and Textures: Create visual interest by incorporating elements of varying heights and textures. Use a mix of pumpkins, gourds, and candles in varying sizes. You could even spray paint some items metallic gold to make your centerpieces stand out.
- Don’t Forget the Little Details: Small details can elevate your DIY fall centerpiece. For example, scatter leaves around the base of your arrangement, add a sprinkle of acorns, or tie a ribbon around a pumpkin stem for a finishing touch.
- Leave Space for Food: When creating your centerpiece, remember to leave enough space on the table for serving dishes and plates. You don’t want your beautiful creation to overcrowd the table setting. Aim for a balanced look.
- Light It Up: If you’re using candles, consider adding some string lights or fairy lights around the base of your centerpiece for an extra touch of magic. This creates a warm glow, especially during evening gatherings.
