Butterfly Garden Moss Wreath

Materials

  • 1 rectangle moss base
  • 2 1" ribbons
  • 1 2.5" ribbons
  • 2 60919 stems
  • 2 daisy filler stems 63428
  • 2 pansy butterfly stems 63379
  • 2 10" galvanized planters
  • 2 blocks of foam
  • felt

Instructions

Prep the container

  • Cut foam to fit snuggly into the container.
  • Line the bottom of foam block with felt. It's gonna allow that glue to adhere to that metal a little bit better.
  • Glue the foam block to the felt.
  • Glue the entire piece foam side down into the container.

Prep florals

  • Trim and separate floral bushes.
  • Separate the ferns from the 60919. You'll use those towards the end of the project.
  • Fluff out the stems.

Add floral stems to containers

  • Add your stems into the foam block in each container, starting with the 60919.
  • Secure with hot glue.

Add containers to moss base

  • Determine where you'll place containers.
  • Use a metal whole punch to create spots to fish wire through and attach to base.
  • Super glue at additional points to ensure containers stay in place.

Touch up with florals and bows

  • On each open corner of the base add a floral stem. Bend them outward in opposite directions so they have a center point. (Don't worry the bare centers will be covered by a bow)
  • Take your 1.5" ribbon, and measure out (2) 11" loops, pinching and twisting.
  • Next bring in the next 1.5" ribbon, and create (4) 12" loops.
  • Last add your 2.5" ribbon, creating (2) 14" loops
  • Zip tie your layers together.
  • Fluff out your bow.
  • Curl your tails.
  • Attach at the center point of the stems you just added to each corner.
  • Add the ferns from the 60919 around the bow areas.

Notes

You can substitute the grapevine moss form with a 14"-16" oval grapevine base.
