2.3.23 Wall Tag with Mod Podge Method DIY Cricut Project-Tammy

Instructions

Prep your base.

  • Start with a wooden tag base.
  • Paint your wooden tag using a sponge brush.
  • Dry your paint using a heat gun.
  • Paint mod podge over the paint layer on the area you want to add your tissue paper using another sponge brush.
  • Dry your mod podge using a heat gun.
  • Add tissue paper over the mod podge area.
  • Add a parchment paper over the tissue paper and melt the tissue paper to the mod podge area using an iron.
  • Cut off the excess pieces.
  • Sand off the edges using a sanding block.

Make and add your design.

  • Start with downloading your design.
  • Prep your cricut machine.
  • Open the cricut software and start with a blank page.
  • Upload your design to the blank page.
  • Measure your shirt space and make sure your sizes for the design are correct.
  • Feed your smart vinyl to the cricut machine.
  • Print your design.
  • Weed your design.
  • Take contact paper and add it to the smart vinyl of your design.
  • Remove the design from the vinyl using the contact paper and add it to the wooden tag.
  • Remove the contact paper.

Make and add your ribbon and bow.

  • Take 1 ribbon and work it through the wooden tag hole to make a hangar.
  • Make a bow by cutting 6 pieces of ribbon and using another ribbon piece to tie them together.
  • Add the bow to the base of the hangar.
  • Dovetail the ends.
  • Fluff out your bow.
  • Take 1 ribbon and cut a piece, adding it to the top of the tissue paper.

Final.

  • Use paint to make small dots on the design using the end of your sponge brush.
  • Use a heat gun carefully to dry the paint.
