Home Decor Sign with Greenery and Bow

Equipment

  • 1 Pair of scissors
  • 1 drill

Materials

  • 1 2.5" ribbon
  • 1 1.5" ribbon
  • 2-4 scrap greenery stems
  • 1 home decor sign
  • 1 zip tie

Instructions

Make a Bow

  • Using the 2.5" ribbon create a 5" tail and pinch.
  • Create a 4" loop pinch and twist.
  • Bring the ribbon around the back creating a second 4" loop.
  • Leave a 5" tail and cut.
  • Use a pipe cleaner to hold bow together.
  • Snip dovetails at the end of each tail
  • Using the 1.5" ribbon create a 4.5" tail.
  • Create a 3.5" loop, pinch and twist.
  • Bring the ribbon around the back creating a second 3.5" loop.
  • Leave a 4.5" tail and cut.
  • Undo the pipe cleaner to add 2nd bow, and resecure making it nice and tight.
  • Snip dovetails at the end of each tail

Decorate Sign

  • Drill 2 holes at the top of the sign
  • Insert pipe cleaner ends into each hole. You'll be using this to secure stems and bow.
  • Trim excess stems so they are not too long.
  • Match both ends up so you have the greenery ends pointing outward in opposite directions.
  • Secure with a zip tie.
  • Fluff out stems.
  • Add stem bundle into pipe cleaner and secure.
  • Attach bow, securing with the same pipe cleaner.
  • Incorporate the stems so they blend with the bow. Bringing them forward in between the loops and tails.
