Materials

  • 1 24" Pine Christmas Tree Hobby Lobby or Pine swag base
  • 3 glittered eucalyptus sprays
  • 2 iridescent magnolia leaf sprays
  • 2 blue glittered leaf sprays
  • 3 red glittered leaf sprays
  • decorative picks
  • red and white ornaments
  • 2 1.5" ribbons
  • 1 2.5" ribbons
  • 2 4" ribbons
  • zip ties

Instructions

  • Make a little loop at the top of the swag or Christmas tree for your hanger.
  • If you're using a Christmas tree, fluff all the pine tines to the front so the back is flat.
  • Start by adding in the iridescent stems. Trim excess stems at the end.
  • Fluff out leaves on the stems.
  • Match the main stem of the spray with the center spine of the swag and attach using pine tines.
  • Trim stray leaves that are sticking out too much or in the way.
  • Continue add the sprays, attaching at the center spine.
  • Incorporate the different leaves by bending them so they blend together.
  • Using your 4" ribbon, dovetail end and attach to the end of the swag, using the pine tines.
  • Create a little roller coaster effect with ribbon and attach with pine tines. Repeat one more time, securing with pine tine.
  • Leave a ribbon tail and dove tail end.
  • When creating your bow, do not cut at the finish.
  • Start with your 1" ribbon, create 2 loops.
  • Next come in with your 1.5" ribbon, create 2 slightly larger loops.
  • Repeat with the next 1.5" ribbon, making the loops slightly larger with each layer.
  • Now add in your 2.5" ribbon, with a little larger loop.
  • Finish off with a 4" ribbon, creating a 20" strip that you'll attach at the center to create 2 x 10" tails.
  • Secure bow with a zip tie.
  • Attach to the swag using the pine tines.
  • Fluff out your bow.
  • Now create large tails that will roller coaster down the rest of the swag. Now, cut the ribbon from the spool and dovetail ends.
  • Add accent pick, securing with pine tines.
  • Attach red and white ornaments
