Instructions

Prep Your Materials

  • Start by cutting all your greenery and florals into individual stems.
  • Organize them by type and count how many you have. This helps with even distribution and balance throughout the wreath.

Add the Base Greenery

  • Begin by placing your fall greenery around the grapevine base. Push the stems into the wreath and secure them with hot glue.
  • Space them evenly to create a balanced base. Melissa recommends using 8 stems, dividing them into four per side.

Incorporate Glitter Accents

  • Add a few glittery stems for sparkle. These provide texture and contrast without overwhelming the design.
  • Place them sporadically around the wreath to keep the look cohesive.

Layer with Filler Leaves

  • Use non-glittered leaves as filler to build volume and add depth.
  • Push the leaves up on their stems for maximum impact before placing them in the wreath.
  • Alternate between inside and outside placement for a natural look.

Add Berries and Twigs

  • Insert berries and twig elements to highlight the grapevine’s rustic charm. These are perfect for filling gaps and extending the design outward.
  • Focus on balancing the placement while maintaining a natural flow.

Introduce the Florals

  • Start with the largest blooms, like bright yellow or dark red flowers, to establish focal points.
  • Place them in a triangular pattern around the wreath for visual harmony.
  • Add smaller blooms and florals to fill remaining gaps, ensuring each element is visible from the front.

Final Touches

  • Check for any uneven spots and adjust as needed.
  • Ensure the back of the wreath is clean and free of sharp stems that could damage doors.
  • Melissa suggests running your hand along the back and trimming any protruding stems.

Notes

Dry Fit Before Gluing: Arrange your stems in the wreath without glue first to see how they’ll look.
Use Wired Stems: These allow you to bend and shape the greenery and florals to fit the design.
Skip the Bow: This wreath doesn’t need a bow, but you can always add one if you feel it’s missing something.
Balance Is Key: If you’re short on certain elements, like bright blooms, skip them altogether rather than leaving the wreath unbalanced.
