Instructions

Prepare the Frame and Base Mesh

  • Attach black pipe cleaners to the wreath frame, evenly spaced around the inner and outer rings.
  • Cut your deco mesh into 20-inch strips.
  • Create ruffles by gathering the mesh down the center and securing each piece to the pipe cleaners. Use the “pancake method” to keep the wreath slim enough for door display.

Layer the Ribbon

  • Cut ribbon tails into 12-inch pieces. Use a mix of your selected designs: polka dots, stripes, and solid colors.
  • Dovetail the ends of the ribbon for a polished look.
  • Layer two ribbons together and attach them to the pipe cleaners over the mesh. Fluff the ribbons to ensure they’re visible and don’t overlap too much.

Attach the Sign

  • If your sign doesn’t have pre-drilled holes, carefully add two using a drill or punch tool.
  • Thread wire through the holes and attach the sign securely to the wreath frame, ensuring it’s centered.
  • Make sure the wire is tight but doesn’t crush the mesh beneath.

Add the Bow

  • Choose your ribbons to create a multi-layered bow. Start with longer tails and larger loops at the bottom and gradually decrease the size as you layer.
  • Use a zip tie to secure the bow in the center, and attach it to the wreath frame near the sign.
  • Fluff the bow loops and tails for a full, luxurious look.

Final Touches

  • Adjust the mesh and ribbon tails to ensure balance.
  • Tuck any exposed pipe cleaners neatly under the mesh or ribbons.
  • For added sparkle, incorporate small gold or silver ornaments, or picks with glittery accents, into the design.
