Blue Sunflower Grapevine - REPLAY

Instructions

  • Prep the grapevine base, cut pipe cleaners in half, begin at the 12 o’clock position and attach the pipe cleaner
  • Apply in triangles, leave about 6” space and attach on the outside of grapevine
  • Place another one diagonally across from the previous pipe cleaner on the inside
  • Continue in the same pattern down the grapevine, ending at the 6 o’clock position
  • Using 10” mesh cut 4 strips each of two colors at 25”
  • Roll in the ends and walk it up the middle to make a cruffle
  • Add into the pipe cleaner, push against the base, twist the pipe cleaner, alternating the colors down the base
  • Add Cream Greenery
  • Prep stems by trimming the stem of the spray, cut at angle, fluff out in triangle and bend
  • Put in grapevine at the 12 o’clock position with hot glue
  • Layer next piece into the negative spaces of the previous layer
  • Mold and move the mesh as needed, as you add the sprays
  • Mark the transition point, where you want to place the bow and begin the downward flow of the sprays
  • Add the next spray under the mesh and into the grapevine upside down
  • Continue in the same manner until complete at the 6 o’clock position
  • Add the floral spray in the same manner beginning with the 12 o'clock position and continuing downward until the 6 o’clock position filling in the empty spaces
  • Make The Bow
  • Starting with 4” ribbon, make a 6” tail, pinch it together,
  • Make loop (approximately 8”) from back to front, then walk it together, give it a hard twist,
  • Make another loop (approximately 8”) from back to front, walk it together and lay it on top
  • Make sure the loops are the same size and that bow fits the area
  • Second layer: Using another 4” ribbon, make the tail just slightly shorter than the previous layer
  • Make loop about 1” shorter, from back to front, then walk it together, give it a hard twist,
  • Make another loop from back to front, walk it together and lay it on top
  • Third layer: using ⅞” ribbon, make loop about 1” shorter, from back to front, then walk it together, give it a hard twist,
  • Make another loop from back to front, walk it together and lay it on top
  • Fasten the layers together with a zip tie
  • Take another zip tie, find spot for bow and add the zip tie into the grapevine
  • Add bow in the center, fasten off, dovetail the short ends
  • Fluff the bow, moving mesh as needed to support the loops
  • Layer the three longer tails on top of each other, make a billow pouf
  • Add a zip tie at the 7 o'clock position, pinch the pouf and add into zip tie it in
  • Make tails and trim 1” shorter than the previous layer and dovetail
  • Add Sunflowers and Other Florals
  • Trim the sunflower sprays at an angle and bend the ends
  • Start with the large flowerheads, placing the first one at the 12 o’clock position
  • Start working in diagonals and in triangles all the way down
  • Face some flowerheads forward and some downward
  • Begin placing the next size flowerheads, following the same pattern filling in some empty spaces
  • Add floral bud at the top of the grapevine, then add one in the center of the bow
  • Add additional buds in diagonals in a couple more spots
  • Fill in other spots with the cluster sprays
