Bunny Butt Eggsplotation

Instructions

Prepping Your Evergreen

  • Separate the pinetines around your evergreen. Fanning them out to be nice and full.
  • Grab your premade Easter Egg wreath and set it right down in the middle of evergreen. Use pinetines to hold it in place all around your wreath for security.
  • Move your eggs towards the outside to make room for your bunny butt to fit in the center. If any need to be removed, you can take them out and use them again later.

Adding Your Bunny Butt

  • Be sure to remove all the tags.
  • Using the attachments on your bunny butt, you will attach them to the inside of the base. Tip* Twist the 2 strings together to make them stronger before you attach.
  • Place the bunny butt right into the center, and carefully flip over your whole wreath to attach to secure it tight. Twist with pinetines and bunny attachments.

Meshing It Up

  • Grab your 10” mesh creating 6 pieces of each color. With your mesh, you will curl in your cut edges inside and tuck it in - about a curl and ½ on each side. Then walk the rest together and make a pinch to make it look like a butterfly. This is a CRUFFLE = (Curl + Ruffle). You will connect to keep smooth and frayed sections as to not be seen.
  • You will add them to your wreath, using pinetines to secure in center and to your wreath. Remembering to alternate your colors. It will be a full wreath when all is said and done, so don’t stress about placement.
  • If you have extra mesh pieces, that is okay. We can use them later.

Creating and Placing Your Handmade Bows

  • Begin with your 4” ribbon, keeping in mind this bow will not have long tails. (No longer than 10 inches.) You will be creating a diagonal placement of 2 bows on wreath.
  • Grab your 4” ribbon to create your bow. With ribbon, squish together, loop from back to front, squish again, twist, and make another loop from back to front, being sure your loops are the same length and tails face the front.
  • Come over the top with your 2 ½ ” ribbon, dropping the ribbon to the floor to allow for easy movement as you create. Your tail on this section of bow will be 2 inches longer than your first ribbon length. Remember to gather, pinching at center, and repeating the steps above to make your next layer of bow. You will have 2 loops of that color ribbon when complete.
  • Repeat for the next layer of bow with your 1 ½” ribbon, remembering to keep your tails a bit longer, loops, and heights even. Adjust so all tails face forward. You will have 4 loops of this specific layer of bow.
  • Grab your pipe cleaner or zip tie to secure in the center to hold your handmade bow together. Tip* Leave a long end and short end of pipe cleaner.
  • In the bottom right corner of the wreath, by bunny feet, tie the bow right against the base of your wreath, secure with pine tines and pipe cleaner to hold in place. Fluff ribbon, work the wire, curl with hands your 1 ½” and trim tails and add dovetail detail.
  • Repeat to make a second bow to place on top of the wreath. The second bow will not have long tails since it will be popping off of the top.
  • Fluff bows, add dovetails, work 4” ribbon through the top of decor to pop. Work wire and add curl.

Adding Your Bunny Ears and Embellishments

  • Grab your ears and eyeball where to add to the wreath. Using the wire on ears, twist it around your evergreen base to secure. Bend one ear if you like that look.
  • Make your large foam colorful eggs a pick by first cutting off ribbons, and grab your BBQ skewers. Cut skewers if needed. Insert into egg at base. Wrap around the wreath to add with pine tines to secure and hot glue in place.
  • Remembering to keep symmetry, eyeball where to add your embellishments, both large and small, on your wreath. Make sure they are nested in place.

Adding Your Florals and Sprays

  • Grab your summer stem florals, removing from stems with a stem cutter. Using the triangle method for placements, work your floral into your eggs base, adding some pop.
  • Hot glue and shimmy into place. *Hot glue is your friend, so use it.
  • With your jelly bean spray, remove what you need to add detail. Length of stems are long enough to reach into the wreath and be secured with hot glue. Have them dancing throughout your wreath, keeping it fun and whimsical. They will stick out about 1-2” from the border of the mesh.
  • If you have any extra eggs, you can hot glue them to the center of your bow for fun.
