Choosing Florals in Person and Supplies Online

Instructions

Choosing Florals in Person

  • Start with greenery that takes up a big space, nice thick and dense. (A flat leaf eucalyptus is a great option for this).
  • Next a fun bunch with different leaves and textures like fern. This gives depth with different colors and textures.
  • Other good filler options are boxwood, eucalyptus and ivy.
  • Next choose a couple different sized flowers.
  • Start with something that is big and takes up space like a dahlias, peonies, magnolias etc.
  • You will use between 3 and 5 of these big flowers in a design to carry the weight and make it a show stopper.
  • Next choose a medium floral like ranunculus. Having different colors and textures will work best.
  • Next choose one or two small floral bunches like 60919 that have a bunch of different textures in it.
  • Next choose something whimsy. This is usually something wired and something with more length.
  • Choose a decoration to match the theme of the design (in this case, bumblebees).

Choosing supplies online

  • Before you start shopping, think about what you are shopping for and make a list of what you need. Are you shopping for a custom design, restocks, a certain color palette, etc.
  • An example of this is if you are shopping for a mesh restock you would write down what colors you need, what color combos and what you are low on.
  • Think about upcoming seasons and what you may need for those and what can be used for multiple seasons.
  • Check out the new arrivals section and see what is new.
  • First focus on the list and what you need and skim over everything else.
  • Add everything you will need that is on your list to your cart.
  • Remember that everyday items can be used for seasons.
  • Search for what you are looking for and sort them the way that makes the most sense to you.
  • Purchase more items that can be used for different designs and less “one use” items.
