Christmas garland tutorial - Mel

Equipment

  • Scissors
  • Hot glue pot
  • Stem cutter

Materials

  • 1 9 ft lime green tinsel garland used 6ft.
  • almost 1 full roll of 21inch mesh for poofs
  • 3 different 10 inch mesh for ruffles
  • Ornaments
  • Red curly short picks
  • 1 red and green candy spray
  • 1 bush long red glittery leaf spray, used pieces.
  • red and green small glittery ball garland used in pieces
  • 1 4" wired ribbon
  • 1 2.5" wired ribbon
  • 2 1.5" wired ribbon
  • pipe cleaners
  • hot glue

Instructions

Prep your base.

  • Start with a 9 ft green pine garland.
  • Fluff out your pine needles.
  • Take a 21” mesh and add the end into the start of your garland, securing it with pine needles.
  • Create poofs along the garland, making sure to go in a zigzag motion.
  • Take 3 colors of 10” mesh and cut 5 x 25” pieces.
  • Take a piece of mesh, make a cruffle and add it onto your garland.
  • Repeat this with the rest of your mesh, alternating colors and sides as you go..
  • Start with a 4” ribbon, leave a 9” tail and make 18” poofs along the garland, making sure you are going in a zigzag direction.

Decorations.

  • Hot glue some christmas ornaments onto your design.

Add your bows.

  • Make 2 small bows and add them to either end of your garland.
  • Make one large bow and add it into the middle of your garland.

Extras.

  • Take 2 mini ball decoration picks, cut it into pieces and add them in and around the other elements.
  • Add in any other fun Christmas picks and decorations.
  • Add in some red glitter bush greenery.
  • Take 2 ribbons and make a funky bow with 1 loop with each ribbon. Layer them and add them in between the other bows.
