Instructions

Prepping Your Mesh

  • Grab your 21” mesh and lay it flat on your workspace.
  • On your cutting board with a rotary cutter blade, and cut it in 13” strips. You will make 26-28 sections.

Prepping Your Wreath

  • Grab your pencil wreath form, prop up your tinsel tines so it is easy to work with, spacing out and facing the directions you need. Work your wreath flat on your work surface.
  • Grab your 13” mesh curl, keeping it rolled up. Laying flat on your work mat, measure out 5-6”, and pinch it.
  • Grab your 13” mesh curl, keeping it rolled up. Laying flat on your work mat, measure out 5-6”, and pinch it.
  • From the other side of that mesh, measure another 5-6” and lay it down in your next opening for your tines. There will be a pouf created.
  • Grab your center pouf, and unroll a bit. As your grapevine fills up with more mesh, it will look better, so don’t stress.
  • Grabbing another mesh section, repeat grabbing 5-6” from one end. You will insert into the last set of tines, untie it so that it will overlap. Twist tight to secure.
  • Repeat around the entire diameter of this wreath form. Complete on both the top and lower layers of your wreath, so it is nice and full.
  • Once you have completed those layers, you will take another mesh section and fill in the middle gap of your workform wreath by undoing one set of tines. Lay a curl in, repeating as you have done before. Only difference is the second tie will be placed so the mesh will open up covering the middle section.
  • Fluff and spread your mesh as you go, and fill in any gaps.

  • Cut 14” ribbon sections of your yellow, black and white ribbon. Trim tails at an angle.
  • Cut 14” ribbon sections of your bee ribbon, cutting dovetails for this set of ribbon.
  • Once your ribbons are prepped, grab one of each ribbon, pinch in center and lay inside an open tine on your wreath.
  • Once secure in place, spread your ribbons to make an “x”. All tails will face out.
  • These will be placed on the top row only, every other spot.
  • Be sure they are in there nice and tight within your tines.

Be sure they are in there nice and tight within your tines.

  • Grab your thick bee ribbon and measure out 26” and fold in half. Then fold again, so it looks like a taco, and then cut towards the hems to get the dovetail look on your ends.
  • Grab it about 4-5” down from loops and pinch it. Fluff your loop. Kick the top layer of your ribbon tail up, to move aside as you twist the under layer. This will allow for both of your ribbon tails to be facing forward.
  • Repeat steps to make 4 funky bows.
  • You will add these funky bows all over the missing spots on the top layer of your workform wreath, by undoing your tine tie and insert.
  • Fluff your loops and ribbon tails to face forward.

Filling Outside with Funky Bows

  • Roll out 24” of your 1 ½” yellow ribbon sections so you have enough to make funky bows to add to the outer edge of your work form wreath. (12 total)
  • Repeating the steps from up above, make your funky bows.
  • You do not need to open your tines, but instead just lay them inside the tines and then twist again.
  • Fluff your ribbons so they are all facing out.
  • Hang up so it is easy to continue to the next step.

Prepping Your Sign

  • To prep your sign, add hardware mounts using sticky backing and hot glue to the back on each horizontal side.
  • Set aside to dry.

Making Your Bow

  • Using something like a dowel rod, or anything to keep your spool of 4 ½” yellow and black polka dot ribbon in place as you work, pull off about 22” of ribbon to allow you to create your first loop. This loop should be about 6” long. Pinch, twist, and flip your ribbon to create your loops. Keep your loops the same length. This layer of bow should have 2 large loops.
  • Cut from the spool and grab your next ribbon.
  • Using your bee ribbon, repeat steps to make your next layer of this bow. This should have 2 more loops.
  • Grab your swiss dot ribbon, (size of ribbons decreasing as you build on your layers for this bow) and make another 2 loop layer to complete this bow.
  • Be sure your tails are the same length. Check loop lengths as well.
  • At the center of your bow, hold together nice and tight with a chenille stem. Make it nice and tight. Trim excess.
  • Placing your bow at the 11 o’clock position, twist it in place on your wreath. Do not pull it in tight, but instead lay it on top so as not to compromise the mesh.
  • Trim your tails at different angles and sizes to give it character.

Attaching Your Sign

  • With pipe cleaners, weave through the hardware mount attachments and twist tight to help you secure it to your wreath.
  • Adding at the top rail of your wreath, attach your sign with your pipe cleaner one side at a time. Keep it loose so as not to smash your mesh base.
  • Fluff any ribbons that may have been flattened a bit.

Prepping Some Embellishments

  • Grab your yellow and black candy embellishments. Attach a hardware mount to the back so you can add this to your wreath. Set aside.
  • Eyeball where they will look best.
