Instructions
Prepare the Base Garland
Fluff the Garland: Fully spread out the branches to maximize fullness.
Double the Garland: Fold the 9-foot garland in half for a thicker base. Secure the halves together with 3-4 zip ties—one at each end and one in the middle.
Trim to Length: Measure your design space and trim the garland accordingly. Remember, you can extend the visual length later with ribbon and picks.
Add Ivy Garland
Prepare the Ivy: Adjust the lengths, leaving the longer pieces to cascade and the shorter pieces to fill the base.
Attach the Ivy: Drape the ivy along the garland, securing it in 3-4 places with zip ties. Ensure the long pieces cascade naturally.
Make and Attach the Bow
Create a Multi-Layered Bow:
Start with a 12-inch tail of 4-inch ribbon and create three 8-inch loops on each side.
Add the 2.5-inch ribbon with two 6-inch loops on each side.
Finish with the 7/8-inch ribbon, making two 4-inch loops on each side for a whimsical touch.
Secure the Bow: Use a zip tie to secure the bow tightly. Leave a 4-inch tail of the zip tie for attaching it to the garland.
Attach the Bow: Position the bow where the garland begins to cascade. Secure it tightly with the leftover zip tie.
Add Ribbon Tails
Measure and Cut Tails:
Cut 3 long tails (24-30 inches each) of the 4-inch, 2.5-inch, and 7/8-inch ribbons.
Layer the ribbons and secure with a zip tie at the top.
Attach Tails: Secure the bundled ribbon tails just beneath the bow, tucking them under to create a flowing look.
Zigzag the Tails: Drape the tails along the garland, securing them loosely every 12-15 inches with the garland ties or zip ties.
Add Greenery and Texture
Disassemble Pre-Made Wreath: Separate greenery into individual picks for easier placement.
Insert Picks:
Start at the bow and work outward, alternating sides to balance.
Use hot glue or zip ties to secure each piece.
Focus on varying textures and lengths to create dimension.
Fill Gaps: Ensure no bare spots by layering ivy, greenery, and other elements from the pre-made wreath.
Final Adjustments
Fluff and Shape: Adjust all ribbons, greenery, and ivy to ensure a balanced, full look.
Check Length: Measure the final garland, which should extend beyond the original base length due to cascading elements.
Secure Loose Ends: Trim any extra zip ties or ribbon tails as needed.
Notes
Tips
For special occasions, swap everyday greenery with seasonal florals or themed picks.
Use wired ribbon for easy manipulation and better shaping.
If your greenery looks too uniform, twist or bend stems for a natural, organic feel.
