Fall Pastel Swag

Materials

  • 1 roll 10 inch jute poly mesh
  • 1 pack pick or use floral pins
  • 6-7 pieces foam pumpkin
  • hot glue
  • pipe cleaner
  • 3 rolls ribbon
  • 1 bunch sprigs of greenery
  • 3 pieces pink flowers

Instructions

Prep Swag

  • Go ahead and work your swag to be nice and symmetrical. Making sure you have the same pine tines on one side that you have on the other.

Add mesh

  • Using 10 inch jute poly mesh we will be using the drop and roll method to add poofs. Start at the end that has the loop and over to the side attach mesh with the pine tines and make 10-12 inch mesh. Make sure you are hitting the sides and not just going down the middle.

Cut and Add Mesh Ruffles

  • Cut some mesh and create ruffles. Just roll up your mesh squares and then attach to swag base starting at the top and working your way down.

Anchor Pumpkins

  • Attach a pick or use floral pins to add your foam pumpkin to your swag. I use floral pins. Add floral pin to the bottom of your foam pumpkin then add hot glue.
  • Then set that pumpkin down in place and it will adhere to the mesh and shouldn't go anywhere.
  • Keep adding pumpkin into swag base where you desire.
  • You can also use a pipe cleaner to attach your pumpkins to the spine of the swag base.

Make Tail

  • Dovetail end of ribbon tail.
  • Then attach towards the end and make drappery
  • You will loop it around and give it a little tug and tie it off. Then cut the tail. Then dovetail it.
  • You will do this to both ends

Make Bow

  • Measure out tail rather long and make two loops that are about 8-9 inches each. You will want 4 loops total. 2 on each side.
  • Come on right on top with your second ribbon. Making 4 loops a bit smaller. Pinch twist loop and repeat to get the 4.
  • Secure with a pipe cleaner. Twist and secure. Use this to attach your bow to the bottom of your swag wreath. Roll your tails up don't let them just hang.

Add Ribbon Picks

  • Fold ribbon in fourths, twist it, attach to pick using a pick machine
  • Cut the super sharp blade off, add hot glue and push into bottom of swag base.
  • Add several going up the base.

Add Greenery

  • Place some sprigs of greenery throughout your swag. Add where you think it needs some greenery to break up your mesh.
