Fall Scarecrow Wreath

Equipment

  • Probow the hand
  • Fluff Box
  • Extra Spool Holder
  • Rotary Cutter
  • Cutting Mat
  • 26 gauge floral wire
  • Wire Cutters
  • Scissors

Materials

  • 1 15-24” wreath base
  • 2 rolls of 21” deco mesh
  • 1 roll of window pane mesh
  • 4 rolls of 2.5” WIRED ribbon
  • 5 rolls of 1.5” WIRED ribbon
  • 1 sign
  • 3 colors of burlap tubing
  • raffia
  • 1 zip tie
  • 4 pipe cleaners

Instructions

Prepping your base

  • Start with a circle wreath frame with twist ties attached
  • Fold and scrunch the mesh together and secure it with a twist tie on the top layer
  • Measure 10” mesh poof before scrunching and securing it in the next twist tie
  • Continue until you have used all your top tier ties
  • Pull your mesh down to the nearest bottom tier twist tie and secure it
  • Continue with your 10” poofs all the way around the bottom layer
  • Trim off your mesh end
  • Cut 18 10” strips of mesh
  • Curl your mesh strips, fold in half and pinch in the half of that
  • Add the curl right on top of the twist tie. Start at the bottom layer
  • Keep doing this until each tie has a curl
  • Cut 9 10” strips of burlap mesh. Cut each one in half
  • Fold corner to corner and pinch it in the middle to form sort of a bow tie
  • Fold corner to corner and pinch it in the middle to form sort of a bow tie

Making and adding your bows & tails

  • Pick out 7 ribbons that match your sign
  • Cut 18 14” ribbon tails using 3 ribbons
  • Layer your 3 different tails, fold and pinch in half and add it directly to a twist tie, starting on the bottom
  • Repeat for all the ties at the bottom and Fluff out your tails
  • Do the same for the top layer
  • Using a pro bow maker use row D
  • Using your 7 ribbons (4 1.5” and 3 2”) alternate between 1.5” and 2” ribbon
  • Make a terri bow, adding raffia in between your ribbons making it slightly longer than the tails.
  • Secure your layers together and fluff out your bow
  • Add your bow to your wreath on the bottom right

Final Touches

  • Attach your scarecrow sign to the middle of your wreath
  • Using 3 colors of deco tubing, Cut about 15 24” long pieces of each.
  • Using all 3 colors together as well as some raffia, loop them in a circle, leaving some ends and secure it into the twist ties that are visible at the top
  • Do the same for the bottom layers ties
  • Cut 24” ribbon tails using all 7 of your ribbons. Dove tail the ends
  • Layer all your tails on top of eachother with some raffia and a pipe cleaner, fold in half, pull down and zip tie the middle together
  • Secure your tails underneath your bow
