Flamingo Topiary

Instructions

  • Prepare base
  • Fluff garland
  • Wrap around lower leg of Flamingo with pine tines
  • Go across the base to the second leg, attach with pine tines
  • Move up the leg and attach the pine tines
  • Go across the top to the opposite leg attach with pine tines
  • Go down the leg and attach with pine tines to the base; forming a box
  • Attach pine times from one leg to the other across the middle
  • Build the base and add floral stems
  • Cut 10” deco mesh into 20-22” strips
  • Make cruffles and add them to the sides, front and back of the garland
  • Trim off the excess stem and add the large felt greenery; attach with the pine tines
  • Trim off the excess stems and add berry picks around the base; attach with the pine tines
  • Add grass stems, bend wire pieces; attach with the pine tines
  • Trim off the excess stem and add the curly pick; attach with pine tines
  • Carefully open large daisy petals, shape; trim stems; add to base with pine tines
  • Add butterfly picks
  • Make a hand bow
  • Start with your 1st 4" ribbon and make a tail
  • Pinch together make a loop from back to front
  • Pinch at center and twist and make another loop from back to front
  • Add the 2nd layer 2.5" ribbon with steps 1-3; layer diagonally across the 1st layer
  • Repeat the same process with 3rd layer 2.5” ribbon, making slightly smaller loops; layering diagonally over the previous layer
  • Secure with a zip tie
  • Use another zip tie to secure bow to the Flamingo
  • Dovetail ribbon tails and work that wire for a nice curl
  • Using 1.5” ribbon to hide the mechanics of the bow by tying around the neck of Flamingo
  • Fluff the loops
