Using something like a dowel rod, or anything to keep your spool of red polka dot 2 ½” ribbon in place as you work, pull off a good amount of ribbon to allow you to create your first loop with an 18” long tail. This loop should be about 7-10” long. Pinch and twist to create your next loop, and repeat as you make 4 total loops for this large bow. Keep your loops the same length.
Use the phrase, “Pull, twist, loop” as you create your layers for each bow.
Cut from the spool and grab your next 2 ½” blue star ribbon. The loops and tails of this layer of bow will just be an inch shorter from your first layer. You will add this to your first layer of bow remembering to pinch it, twist it, loop it for a total of 4 more loops in your second layer of bow. Trim from spool.
Adding one more layer of ribbon of red and white striped ribbon, about 17-18” in all, repeating these steps remembering to come in a little bit shorter with 4 loops for this layer.
Keep it tight in your hand.
Grab a “Punch” ribbon to add some pizazz to this bow. 1” star ribbon, with another 4 loops, creating a 16 loop bow in all for this grapevine.
At the center of your bow, hold together nice and tight with a zip tie. Trim excess.
Set aside.
Begin making a second bow, repeating these same steps, including the same order of ribbon as you did before.
Adjust your tails and loops to be nice and full, in their right place, fluffed, and facing forward.
Then grab that zip tie. Repeating the steps, “Zip it, clip it, forget it!”
With a second zip tie, slide it through to help you be able to attach to your wreath.
