Grave Saddle - Tammy

Materials

  • Metal Grave Saddle Frame- Martins Floral
  • Brick of green Foam- Martins Floral
  • Ferns- Use any kind, any color variety- Martins Floral
  • Tulips *(bunches of tulips not individuals unless they are larger head)- Michaels
  • Babys Breath Stems- Martins Floral
  • Hot Glue
  • Stem Cutter or Floral Snips

Instructions

  • Prep your base
  • Cut Foam Brick
  • Dab hot glue on the metal saddle and insert the foam onto the metal saddle
  • Take 24” pine base and squish it into an oval
  • Cut mesh into 25” to 26” strips
  • Cruffle mesh
  • Twist Deco mesh into wreath base, alternating the mesh colors on the outside ring
  • Twist in 10” poofs on the inside ring
  • Additional Deco mesh pieces cut 25” strips
  • Fold mesh in 1”, then ruffle in the middle (curl the ends under)
  • Open twist tie and add on top of the deco mesh, twist back, breaking up the poof seco mesh
  • Ribbon one: cut ribbon strip at 36” and dove tail the end and roller coaster into the wreath starting from top to bottom
  • Cut another ribbon strip at 36” and dove tail the end and roller coaster into the wreath starting from middle to bottom on the opposite side
  • Bow
  • Layer one: make long tail, pinch, twist and make 8” loops on each side x 3, cut ribbon tail long
  • Layer two: make tail, pinch twist and make loops x2, cut ribbon tail
  • Layer three: make tail, pinch twist and make loops x2, cut ribbon tail
  • Tightly twist pipe cleaner around bow tight
  • Attach bow to wreath base
  • Dove tail ribbon ends and cut ribbon ends at 45 degrees
  • Prep flowers, greenery, and stems
  • Cut flowers and greenery stems all the way at the base
  • Insert greenery into the wreath base on each side (your foundation)
  • Begin to insert at an angle around the saddle base
  • Dab hot glue on the stems inserted into the foam
  • Take longer floral stems and begin to go around the foam base about 3” apart, inserting the stems at an angle for a 3-dimensional look
  • Dab hot glue on the flower stems inserted into the foam base
  • Continue the same process for the second layers of flowers
  • On the 3rd layer, cut the stems a little bit shorter and going in between the previous flowers inserting the flower stems 2” apart on top of the foam base.
  • Continue filling up the top with the flowers, dab hot glue on the stems to secure them to the base
  • Insert more fern stems at the bottom to fill in any open gaps
  • Insert the baby’s breath around the flowers. Stay within your sight line, dab stems with hot glue
