How to use scrap mesh - Tammy

Materials

  • Evergreen Michaels
  • Assorted Scrap Mesh
  • Sams Ribbon x2 Velvet stars Walmart
  • Weave 2.5 Ribbon Deco Exchange-RW580424
  • 1.5 Scalloped ribbon with white edging Deco Exchange
  • Leftover greenery from different projects as well

Instructions

Prep your base

  • Start with an evergreen wreath base (Michaels).
  • Take 20” mesh and add it to the evergreen base making 5-6” poofs all around using the pine needles.
  • Take your assorted 10” scrap mesh (patriotic colors) and make cruffles by curling the ends and pinching the middle together.
  • Add the assorted cruffles to the wreath using the pine needles.

Add in your ribbon

  • Take a 2.5” ribbon and add it to the wreath making some roller coasters.
  • Dovetail the ends.
  • Take a 1.5” scalloped ribbon with white edging (Deco Exchange) and add it to the design making tails all around the base, dovetailing the edges as you go.

Add in your decorations

  • Take your velvet stars (Walmart) and add floral pins to the back of them using glue and then add a pipe cleaner to the floral pins when the glue has dried.
  • Add the velvet stars to the right side of the design using the pipe cleaners.

Make and add your bow

  • Take 3 x 2.5” ribbons and make a bow with 2 loops each.
  • Take a 1.5” ribbon and make a bow with 2 loops.
  • Layer the bows.
  • Secure the bows with a zip tie.
  • Add your bow to the left of the design using a pipe cleaner around the base of the bow.
  • Fluff out your bow.
  • Dovetail the ends.
  • Take a 2.5” ribbon and make a few half bows.
  • Add the half bows to the empty spaces on the design.
  • Dovetail the ends.

Add in your greenery

  • Take your leftover greenery from different projects and add it around the bows using glue.
