Instructions

Preparing the Lantern

  • Time to prep that lantern. If it's dusty, give it a gentle wipe-down. This just ensures your beautiful creations will really shine. Now, check for any hanging loops or handles on your lantern. Those will be super helpful when we start attaching our swag.

Crafting the Base

  • Lay out your chosen greenery on your workspace. Don't be afraid to play with different textures and colors. Using your trusty zip ties, begin securing the greenery into a swag shape.
  • A little tip: overlapping shorter pieces over longer ones creates a beautifully full and natural look. This will make your lantern extra homey and give a rustic feel.

Adding Ribbons and Flourishes

  • Cut your ribbons into various lengths, leaving some extra for cascading tails.
  • Layer them over your greenery, securing them with zip tie.
  • Now, strategically place those charming embellishments like pinecones or berries for a personalized touch. Secure them using—you guessed it—more floral wire. That's the beauty of lantern swag tutorials: you get to customize every detail.

Attaching the Swag

  • Now for the grand finale—attaching your gorgeous creation to the lantern using a zip tie.
  • Once you’ve achieved your desired look, give your bow and greenery a good fluff.
