Instructions

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Clean back the grapevine base using pliers so that it will not scrape or scratch the customer’s door.
  • Focus decorating over the ugly side.
  • Bow will be added to this part of the grapevine.
  • Fluff out lemon stems.
  • Add lemon stems to grapevine.
  • Trim the stems and follow the curve of the grapevine.
  • Use the glue gun to secure the stems to the grapevine.
  • Set aside the wreath base while you create your bow.
  • Using your EZ Bow Maker, measure out a 16” tail.

Make a bow:

  • 2 - 6” loops on each side using the 2.5” ribbon.
  • 1 - 6” loop on each side with the same ribbon.
  • Secure the bow using a pipe cleaner.
  • Cut a piece of the ribbon, cut in half, and wrap around the center of the bow.

Fluff out the bow.

  • Add bow in between the lemon stems.
  • Take the needle nose pliers, run through the grapevine and grip the pipe cleaner and then pull it back through.
  • Twist and tie nice and tight in the back of the wreath.
  • Trim ends at an angle and then curl the tails.
  • Trim the stems of the boxwood and build out in the grapevine.
  • Fill in where you can see the grapevine.
  • Do this to the left and right side of the bow.
  • Dip stems in the glue pot or use a glue gun and then add to the wreath.

Notes

Design Tips:
If remaking a bow, do NOT reuse the same pipe cleaner.
If leaves slide up and down on the stem, use pliers to pinch and keep it in place.
Suggestion: when adding a bow, I prefer to be either slightly angled to the top or to the bottom and never right in the center.
When making duplicate wreaths, I recommend doing them all side by side, especially if for double doors.
Leaving the glue gun at 380, it doesn’t drip.
Make sure all your leaves are facing the same direction.
If leaf stems are hand-wrapped, you can take an exacto knife or sharp tool and cut the wrap to get the different stems.
Curve your stems before inserting into the wreath base to create a raised texture.
The most important thing about whenever you do your designs is that whenever you look at it from the side and you can actually see how all of my stems come away from the project. We want to build it up and out.
Get creative in keeping your design looking natural.
Keep flower petals facing outward.
