Mantel Challenge

Instructions

Secure Garland to Mantel:

  • Find the midpoint of garland by folding in half.
  • Place garland centered on mantel and secure with either nails or removable adhesive hooks.
  • Adjust and separate pine stems of garland.

Secure Bells:

  • Below bells on one corner of mantel, take the first ribbon, leaving an 8-inch tail, create a 6 to 7-inch loop, pinch ribbon, and twist to bring right-side forward.
  • Secure loop to garland by twisting pine stems around pinched center.
  • Create another loop and attach to garland creating bow effect on one end and trim.
  • On top of mantel, leave an 8-inch tail of ribbon, pinch, and attach to garland by twisting pine stems around pinched area.
  • Create a flowing loop by extending ribbon half-way toward center and securing to garland with pine stems.
  • Create second flowing loop towards center by weaving ribbon down through garland a few inches and then extending ribbon towards center.
  • Secure second loop near center garland bells and secure with pine stems.
  • Cut, leaving an 8-inch tail.
  • Repeat steps 1-8 on opposite side of mantel.

Insert Textured Ball Ornaments:

  • Insert six textured ball ornaments into garland. Place one on each trailing end of garland and two on either side of center bells.
  • Secure by twisting pines stems around holder, using floral wire or hot glue.

Inserting Floral Stems:

  • Insert floral stems along garland and secure with pine stems.

Attach Accent Ribbon:

  • If desired, attach an accent ribbon.
  • Create bow-ties by cutting an 8 to 10-inch length of ribbon, dovetail, and attach to garland with pine stems
  • Create loops by leaving a tail, make a 6 to 7-inch loop, pinch and secure to garland with pine stems, and trim leaving a second tail.
  • Use either or both accent options the entire length of garland.
