Instructions

Performing Surgery on Your Wreath

  • Look over your wreath and see if anything is broken, not hanging well, out of place, too short, too long, needing more glue to secure it better, etc. If your wreath has been in your shop for a while, it could use just a good glance over to fix any little issues it might have endured.
  • Use picks, hot glue, floral pins, extra BBQ skewers, etc. to do some “Surgery” to make your wreath more presentable.
  • Remove any old accessories, bows, embellishments you don’t love anymore and be willing to replace with new ones.
  • Trim any tails that are sticking out too far. Dovetail and roll ribbons to make them pop on any bows you think still could work in your wreath.
  • Don’t be afraid to hot glue ribbons or bow loops to stay in place to keep the pop and texture you are going for.

Making a Better Bow

  • Grab your 4” fancy designer, appliqued ribbon to increase the wow factor of this wreath. Create a 2 loop bow with long tails and large loops using your pinch, twist, and loop method.
  • To begin the next layer of your bow, grab your bright orange and black polka dot 2-3” ribbon, adding a “Clover bow” right on top.
  • To make the clover bow, leave a tail, make your first loop, pinch, and twist, making your next loops repeating the same pinch and twist process. You should have 4-5 loops in all in this bow, and roughly 10” tails.
  • Grab your next ribbon, decreasing in size as you add your next layer. This 3rd layer of bow will have 4 loops.
  • Holding tight in place in your hand, you will secure them in the center with a short zip tie.
  • Grab your 2nd longer zip tie, and slide it through the first, to allow you to easily attach your large bow to your wreath.
  • Finding a spot on your wreath, slide the zip tie right through the middle of your wreath remembering not to go around the circumference of your wreath. This will help it be nice and secure. Pull tight.
  • Fluff your loops and zip tie or pin your long beautiful tails into your wreath with a floral pin. This will showcase the detail and beauty of the applique ribbon.
  • Trim any tails, at an angle, still remembering to leave them long enough to roll a bit.

Adding More Greenery and Picks

  • Grab your greenery bundle picks and eyeball where it could improve the look of your overall design. Add as many as you think.
  • With hot glue on the end of your pick, insert it into your wreath. Trim stems if necessary.
  • Grab some festive picks to add a little more fancy. Use hot glue to help reinforce the look, working it into your wreath.
  • If you have a foam embellishment, that doesn’t have a stem, insert a BBQ skewer inside and create your own fancy pick.
  • Add all the goodies you see fit to help improve the look and overall quality of this wreath.
  • Add pumpkins, glittery foam ball picks, floral picks, curly cue picks, etc. Don’t be afraid to get creative.

Properly Utilizing a Large Pick

  • Use a large candy corn bundle from At Home, even though it is quite big.
  • Trim it down with your stem cutter using just a bit of it. With hot glue on the end of your stem, insert it into your wreath so it embellishes it more.
  • Play with placement and be creative.
  • Add a glittery purple picks to tie your colors all together. Hot glue in place.

Look Back Over Your Work

  • As you are finishing up, look back over your work objectively and make any changes. You need to feel proud of your work, knowing it is a direct reflection of your design style.
  • Give your wreath the love and care it needs in order for it to become a great seller in your shop.
