Patriotic deco mesh wreath

Materials

  • 21" mesh poofs
  • 3 styles: 10 inch mesh cut in 30 inch strips.
  • 14" frame
  • 12 twist ties
  • 2 zip tie mounts
  • 1 metal sign 6x12
  • blue/greenery florals
  • 2 inch 2.5" ribbons for tails cut 14 inches long
  • 4 bow ribbons: 1 2.5 inch ribbons & 3, 1.5 inch ribbons 2.5 inch ribbons & 3, 1.5 inch ribbons
  • 1 pack red vase filler foam balls found in assorted patriotic bag

Instructions

Prepping your base.

  • Start with a 14” wire wreath form with 12 twist ties.
  • Attach your first 6 twist ties to your wreath form on every cross section in the inside of your wreath.
  • Take your next 6 twist ties and attach them in the middle of your other ties but on the outside ring.
  • Take a red and white 21”, scrunch the end together, attach the end to a twist tie and make a large 10”-12” poof, keep making poofs and attach them into your ties along the inner ring.
  • Repeat this step on the outer ring.
  • Take 3 different colors of mesh and cut 4 x 30” pieces of each one.
  • Take a piece of mesh and make a cruffle by rolling the ends inwards and pinch the middle, tie it into your twist ties, repeat this process Alternating colors until all your ties have a cruffle.
  • Repeat the same process until all your ties have a ruffle. Alternate colors as you go.

Add your ribbon tails.

  • Take 2 different ribbons and cut 14” strips.
  • Layer the ribbons, pinch the middle and add it into a twist tie.
  • Keep adding tails all the way around your wreath until all your twist ties have a tail.

Add your sign.

  • Take your sign with cable mounts already attached.
  • Add pipe cleaner to the mounts.
  • Attach your sign just above the middle of your wreath, securing it with the pipe cleaners.

Make and add your bow

  • Take your first ribbon and make 14” tails with 4 x 6.5” loops.
  • Take your next ribbon and repeat this process but only make 2 loops.
  • Using your next ribbon make a bow with 4 loops
  • Using your next ribbon make another bow with 3 x 3.5” loops
  • Wrap your bows together with pipe cleaners.
  • Dovetail the ends.
  • Fluff out your bow.
  • Attach your bow just underneath your sign with the pipe cleaners.

Add florals & fillers

  • Add some vase filler balls anywhere you see a pipe cleaner. Secure it with hot glue.
  • Add some blue floral greenery in and around your wreath.
