Patriotic Door Hanger

Instructions

Prep the Door Hanger Base

  • Start with your patriotic-themed door hanger as the base. This piece features bold red, white, and blue elements that pair well with playful summer ribbons and whimsical picks.

Create the Bow

  • Cut (3) 14" tails of each ribbon and layer them in an X shape.
  • Create loops with the denim and ric rac ribbon (approx. 6" loops), keeping each style visible for variety.
  • Add a top center loop with the polka dot ribbon.
  • Pinch and twist in the center and secure with floral wire or a zip tie.

Add Picks to the Bow

  • Layer in the Red Locust Pick and Star Pick behind the bow.
  • Insert the Lollipop Pick for a fun, festive flair.
  • Wire or hot glue them in for stability, angling slightly outward for dimension.

Attach the Bow & Picks to the Hanger

  • Position the bow at the top center of the hanger.
  • Secure the bow using a pencil tie, pipe cleaner, or zip tie stapled or glued to the back of the sign.

Fluff & Finish

  • Fluff your bow loops and ribbon tails to fill in the space.
  • Trim ribbon ends in dovetails or angled cuts for a clean finish.
  • Adjust greenery and picks so they fan out around the bow for a balanced look.
