Patriotic Mesh Ribbon Wreath NO Bow

Instructions

  • Take your wreath base and straighten out the ties on the metal bracket.
  • Take the end of the blue mesh and pinch together. Make about “11 to 12” loop and fold it over.
Place that loop into the wreath ties (mesh to metal) and twist the ties together securing the mesh loop. You will start this process beginning with the inner circle of the wreath base.
  • 3. Measure about 10 to 12 inches of the mesh, making another poof. Place the mesh between the wreath ties and twist twice.
  • Continue to go around the inner top circle of the wreath base repeating the same process. Once you have come full circle, make another poof and twist into the twist tie you started with to make a complete full circle.
  • Continue with going straight out to the outside circle. Make your poofs equal throughout the whole wreath base.
  • Next cut your red, white, and blue mesh. You will cut each piece in 20” increments. You will cut 18 strips.
  • Take a strip of mesh and fold it under about an inch (this helps with keeping it from fraying). With your hands scrunch up the mesh by pinching in the mesh toward you. You want to make sure that you are pinching in the middle of the mesh. Untie a twist tie and place the ruffle in the tie and retwist the tie securing the ruffle to the base. Continue with this process by placing a ruffle in each of the twist ties.
  • Attach the sign to the wreath using pipe cleaners. Twist two pipe cleaners together to extend the length. Attach down through the ruffles and try to hide the pipe cleaner as much as you can.
  • Take your 2 1/2” ribbon and cut (9) 13” tails. Dove tail the ends of the ribbon tails.
  • Lay your ribbon tail on a flat surface and gather in the middle pinching the center of the ribbon tail. Attach to the ribbon tail to the wreath base by untwisting the wreath tie, placing the ribbon tail in the twist tie and retwisting the tie. The ribbon tale should be pointing outwards. Complete this step attaching the ribbon tail to every other twist tie on the wreath base. Attach to the inner and outer circle.
  • Take the next ribbon of choice and cut (9) 24” strips. Dove tail the ends. Make a funky bow by folding the ribbon in half. About 4“ down the folded ribbon pinch the center in together. Attach the funky bow to every other twist tie that a ribbon tail is not placed.
  • Take a third ribbon of choice and make a funky bow. Place the funky bow over the original ribbon tails made in step 10.
  • Sperate the eucalyptus bush by cutting the stems apart. Push up the eucalyptus as it is a push up piece. Leave 3 or 4 inches on the stem. Hot glue the stem and place it right into the tie. Repeat this step for every other tie. (Optional, place more greenery into missing spots to soften the look).
  • Taking your picks and separate the bundle. Place the picks on every other twist tie that the eucalyptus is not attached to.
