Periwinkle Analogous Moss Wreath

Instructions

  • Prep the Base
  • Attach the bunny as the focal piece on the base by centering on the bottom
  • Add skewers at an angle through the base of wreath and bunny bottom from both sides
  • Add skewers behind the bunny ears by pushing them through the base and either into the ears or into the head
  • Trim off excess skewers
  • Add dab of hot glue to the entry points of the skewers
  • Add Floral Stems
  • Cut the floral stems off the bush at an angle (remove the leaves)
  • Bend the stems slightly
  • Lay out the stem pieces to visualize placement; alternate the different lengths
  • Start with the longer piece in center of base
  • Add other pieces to the left and right of the center piece approximately 1-2” apart
  • Fill in gaps with shorter stems
  • Add a dab of hot glue on each
  • Build out the Bow
  • Use zip ties to attach ribbon to base
  • Begin by adding  zip tie midway up from the bottom of base
  • Space each of the zip ties approximately 4-6” apart;
  • With a 6” tail, attach the ribbon in the first tie
  • Make a large billow, about 6-8” and attach to the next tie
  • Cut a 6-8” tail
  • Do the same steps as 4-6 in reverse
  • End with a 6” tail
  • Remove the excess zip ties
  • Prep Egg Ornaments
  • Remove the ribbon from the ornament attachments
  • Decide where you want to place the attachments
  • Add a skewer to bottom of egg to create a pick
  • Add some hot glue to secure eggs in place
  • Put in place after you have added some of the additional florals (see next section)
  • Add Additional Florals
  • Cut second floral stems off bush (don’t use leaves)
  • Leave stems long
  • Begin adding them around the wreath
  • Keep in mind the placement of your bow and egg ornaments
  • Bend the stems just a little bit
  • Continue adding until all stems are placed
  • Prepare the next floral picks, cutting of the stem (do not use the leaves)
  • Make Hand Bow
  • Start with about 12” ribbon tail
  • Walk the ribbon together, make a loop from back to front, walk it together: it should be a good pleat and lay it right on top of the other
  • Give it a hard twist;
  • Make another loop from back to front and walk it together; place it right on top of the other loops
  • Make sure the tails and the loops are even
  • When making more than two loops of the same ribbon, be sure to measure the loops to ensure  they are the same size
  • Hard twist another loop from back to front
  • Make another loop from back to front and walk it together; place it right on top of the other loops
  • Take a zip tie and loop it around the middle of the bow and close
  • Put another zip tie in the center of the base where the bow will go
  • Place the bow in the middle and close the zip tie
  • Fluff out the bow; cut off excess zip tie
  • Trim tail and curl both ends
  • Dovetail the smaller tails
  • Add a floral piece in the center of the bow to cover the zip tie
  • Add other floral pieces to fill in any empty spaces
