Saint Patrick’s Day Garland

Materials

  • 2 Tear Drop Swag Bases Polka Dot Wreath co- XX2028W4
  • 10 Inch Deco Mesh Natural Jute
  • 10 Inch Deco Mesh Green and White Stripe
  • Ball Picks Hobby Lobby CP1701
  • 2.5 inch green and gold swiss dot- RA1732MF
  • Shamrock Velvet- Farisilk
  • 2.5 Green Velvet - Deco Exchange- RL194306
  • 1.5 Tan and green shamrock ribbon- Deco Exchange- RGE12201
  • 1.5 Black and white check shamrock ribbon
  • Round 12” sign- Polka Dot Wreath Co.
  • 5.5 square signs- Polka Dot Wreath Co.
  • 4 inch Green and gold swiss dot- Deco Exchange

Instructions

  • Prep your base
  • Combine two 36” garland bases and zip tie together
  • Fluff out your garland base and place the pine needle flat for each side of the base
  • Using 10” mesh, gather together all at once the ends of the mesh making a baby loop with the end
  • Twist into the end of the garland base with the pine ties
  • Make 12” humps by bunching up the mesh and twist down the garland with even humps
  • Cut excess mesh
  • Cut 10” mesh into 10 to 15” strips using the rest of the 10” mesh
  • Ruffle the mesh strips and twist into the garland base right in the middle of the garland
  • After the ball garland is attached, Cut 25” to 30” strips of green and white mesh
  • Ruffle the mesh and attach to the garland base
  • Trim the pine needle in the middle top and bottom of the garland where it was connected together
  • Prep the sign attachments
  • Hot glue mount to the back of the sign
  • Insert pipe cleaner into the mount and attach to the middle of the garland base
  • The second set of signs, peak in the signs into the base. Add a dab of hot glue
  • Bow
  • Cut 36” of ribbon and fold it in half, making a 7” loop and twist ribbon
  • Attach the funky bows to the garland base
  • Dove tail the ribbon ends
  • Ribbon two: Make a clover bow. Pinch, twist loop 4X, Loops and 6 ½ “
  • Make second clover bow
  • Attach bows to the garland base
  • Ribbon three: Make a 12” roller coaster and twist into the garland base on each side
  • Dove tail the ribbon ends
  • Add shoe lace bow on top of the bows on each side of the sign, dove tail the ends
  • Prep florals, picks and attachments
  • Split ball garland and cut off the red of the garland
  • Attach ball garland to the garland base by twisting in with the pine needles
  • Attach the final ball attachments to the base about one every foot with a dab of hot glue
