Instructions

Prep the Planter Box

  • Start by cutting down your foam so it fits securely inside the window box. You want a snug fit so nothing wiggles when you start inserting stems.
  • Optional: Glue the foam down or use wood skewers to anchor if placing in windy areas.
  • If you’re planning to reuse the container for another season, don’t glue your foam. That way, it’s easy to swap out the arrangement for fall or Christmas.

Add Your Greenery Base

  • Start with your large pointed greenery (PF1673). Place one piece in each corner and a couple across the back.
  • Add in your fern bush throughout the center and front edges to create a full, lush base.
  • Angle your greenery outward at the edges and let it spill slightly over the front for a more natural, garden-like look.

Add Yellow Florals

  • Insert your yellow floral bush first. These go in the center and mid-section of the arrangement. Vary the height slightly, but keep them around 10–12” tall.
  • Fan them out slightly to brighten up the core of the design.

Add Red Florals for Contrast

  • Use your red floral bush to add pops of vibrant color. Tuck a few toward the back and some peeking out through the ferns in front.
  • These should be slightly lower than the yellow blooms—around 8–10” tall.
  • Keep your colors balanced—don’t cluster all the red in one area. Think of it like adding visual seasoning.

Fill in the Gaps

  • Step back and look at your arrangement from eye level.
  • Fill any holes with extra fern or greenery clippings.
  • You want the planter to look full from all angles, especially if it’ll be seen from the sidewalk or street.
