Instructions

Create the Base Bundles

  • Prepare the Greenery:
  • Start with a flocked garland as the foundation. Fluff the branches to ensure even coverage.
  • If your garland isn't flocked, use flocked picks to add a snowy effect.
  • Assemble Decorative Bundles:
  • Take 3-4 decorative stems (such as magnolias, textured leaves, and frosted picks) and arrange them to create a mini-bundle.
  • Layer elements: Place larger leaves or branches at the back and smaller, textured pieces at the front.
  • Use zip ties to secure the bundle at the base.
  • Repeat until you have 4-5 bundles, depending on the length of your garland.

Attach Bundles to the Garland

  • Align and Secure Bundles:
  • Lay out the garland flat and space the bundles evenly along its length. Place one at each end, with the rest evenly distributed.
  • Use zip ties to attach each bundle securely to the garland. Ensure the bundles overlap slightly to avoid gaps.
  • Adjust Placement:
  • Fluff and bend stems to create a full, dimensional look. Pull some branches upward for height and let others cascade for width.

Add Statement Pieces

  • Incorporate Magnolias:
  • Wire or zip tie the magnolia flowers into the garland. Position them between bundles, ensuring they’re evenly spaced.
  • Alternate placement to balance the design visually.
  • Include Frosted Crab Apples:
  • Add frosted crab apples near the magnolias or as standalone accents. Wire them securely to prevent shifting.
  • Place Snowflakes and Ornaments:
  • Insert snowflake picks sporadically throughout the garland for sparkle.
  • If using ornaments, wire them in clusters near the magnolias or between bundles to create focal points.

Layer in Ribbon (Optional)

  • Cut Ribbon Lengths:
  • Use 18-24-inch lengths of wired ribbon. Fold them into loops or cascading tails for added texture.
  • Attach Ribbon:
  • Tuck ribbon into the garland, securing it with floral wire or zip ties. Allow it to weave through the bundles naturally.

Final Touches

  • Secure and Fluff:
  • Ensure all elements are securely attached. Adjust any pieces that appear flat or hidden.
  • Check Balance:
  • Step back to assess the overall design. Make adjustments as needed for symmetry and fullness.
