Winter Grapevine Wreath - Meghan

Materials

  • Grapevine 14-16” oval or any shape from Decoexchange
  • 2 Wooden Holly Pip berry, winter picks 62035 Decoexchange
  • 2 staghorn fern picks from Sims Pottery
  • 1.5 yards 2.5” burlap with Gingham/buffalo check ribbon DecoExchange
  • 1.5 yards 2.5” buffalo check ribbon DecoExchange
  • Zip ties

Instructions

  • Prep your wreath kit
  • Measure ribbon at 1 ½ yards for the two ribbons that will be used and cut ribbon
  • Measure a ½ yard of the same ribbons and cut ribbon
  • Measure ribbon at 1 ½ yards for the two ribbons that will be used and cut ribbon
  • Measure a ½ yard of the same ribbons and cut ribbon
  • Bring extra pipe cleaners and zip ties to your class
  • Place items in a baggie to keep
  • Instruct Class to make the Bow First
  • Layer one: use 1 ½ yard ribbon make 4” tail, twist and make loops on each side
  • Layer two: use  ½ yard ribbon and lay over the loops of the previous ribbon
  • Layer three: use 1 ½ yard ribbon make 4” tail, twist and make loops on each side
  • Layer two: use  ½ yard ribbon and lay over the loops of the previous ribbon
  • Prep florals and Sign
  • Fluff your picks and explain how and why you are doing it
  • Cut the ends of the picks (you can have this done before class if desired)
  • Slide ends of the picks together to create a swag and zip tie together
  • Curve the pick ends
  • Lay the swag right on top of the grapevine base
  • Zip tie the swag to the base
  • Attach bow to the wreath base
  • Trim fillers, dab hot glue onto the stem and insert into the swag

Notes

It’s best to buy 50 yard rolls and cut them down. 
Y'all can use any color combo or any season just keep your eyes open for nice full picks with different elements and textures.
